Above me on the landing stood a strange girl, about my age, with short black hair. She was smiling down at me, not a warm smile, not a friendly smile, but the coldest, most frightening smile I had ever seen.
—Goosebumps #1 Welcome to Dead House, R. L. Stine
This is my piece for the MONSTER EDITION book! The book itself has just gone up for pre-order for a limited time—check out the store and the masterpost of artists. I was introduced to the work of a ton of talented artists through this book. I’m so glad to be a part of it! Welcome to Dead House is one of my favorite books from the series. So classically ridiculous and creepy.
A super big thank you to everyone who bought and read my superhero digi-comic Star Puncher versus the Existential Dreadnought, it means a lot! I appreciate all the messages and tweets (and even some fan art!) everyone sent me about it as well. Also thanks for everyone who helped get the word out, even if you couldn’t buy it i was really thankful for the reblogs and the retweets!
If you haven’t bought it and you want to you can get it here for only 2 dollars, thats the same price as two 1 dollar coins which i personally think is a bargain! You can also pay a bit more if you feel like being extra nice.
Star Puncher will return next year at some point, I’m not sure when but 2014 is shaping up to be a big comics year!
Process for page 497 of Vattu, from sketchup model to finished inks and colors. I love doing scenes like this but they do take forever.
A big part of what I want to convey in Vattu is a sense of place that feels organically learned and consistent, which is why I work from the model on panels like this one. If you look closely, bits of the city seen on pages 204, 366, 399, and a few others all come together here.
every year my parents get me to do christmas card designs for them. I usually try to take the opportunity to try new stuff medium-wise since subject-wise I can be so basic and holiday-motif-y. this was my foray into combining watercolour and crayola. is it too early in december to post this? I don’t know.
an aside: I had fun answering questions the other night (I did a lot of private answers since I try not to spam my page with them too much). tonight is going to be a boring lonely intense work night, so if anybody wants to get at me via tumblr ask box, feel free.
sort the cubes is a game I made over the course of about a week! it’s about sorting cubes and responsibility and wanting to live in the stars. also, achievements!!
I made it as my second unity experiment (and my first 3D!) so it’s not super polished. I posted about making it here! the game also features beautiful music by ghostwater (thanks jake!!)
